Henrik Loehman grew up in Gävle, Sweden with a hockey stick in his hand before he could tie his own skates. From his first strides at age three, the ice was where he belonged.
He worked his way through the ranks of Swedish hockey, from Strömsbrö IF to SG Hockey, and eventually to Valbo HC, the storied club that produced NHL star Nicklas Bäckström. His talent earned him a chance in North America, where he played for the Ontario Avalanche in California before suiting up for Missouri State University.
It was in his final college season that a series of concussions ended his playing career. But hockey never left him.
At 19, Henrik discovered power skating and it changed everything. His speed increased, his edges sharpened, and he found himself turning faster in tighter spaces with more power in every stride. He often reflects that if he had access to this kind of coaching earlier, his playing career might have looked very different.
That realization became his calling. For years Henrik traveled the world coaching power skating across Sweden, Russia, Germany, Canada and the United States, working with players at every level from young beginners to NHL professionals.
Now at 28, Henrik has built HLH Skate Analysis with one mission: to make the same elite power skating analysis he delivered on rinks worldwide available to every hockey family in America at a price they can actually afford.
